Abstract
The prospective groom, Hasan, goes to Cyprus with Sema, who wants to get married, to inform her family of their intentions. However, the anxious groom disrupts the family's calm life. This is a comedy film that focuses on this introduction process. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of therapy derived from cognitive-behavioral approaches. The aim is to examine the film "Müstakbel Damat" (Prospective Groom) in this context. ACT is fundamentally an approach aimed at helping individuals cope with their emotional experiences in a healthier way. Sections of the film that can be associated with these themes have been analyzed. The study was conducted using the document analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research processes. As a result, it can be said that this film, which contains scenes related to connecting with the present moment and living in accordance with values, may contribute to psychological counseling processes in the context of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
