Abstract

A microprocessor controlled Mössbauer spectrometer with interferometric calibration is described. A closed-cycle cryostat allows absorbers to be cooled to any temperature between 12 K and room temperature. The commercial software for acquisition of data and fitting Lorentzian lines to a spectrum has been greatly modified and improved. A new, large software package is described allowing velocity calibration, graphical display on terminal, acquisition of source spectra, plotting of spectra on X, t recorder and communication with an external computer.
