Abstract

Among various techniques of penile and distal hypospadias surgery we were convenient with Snodgrass technique. In spite of excellent glandular cosmesis, there were a good number of cases of neo-urethral stricture requiring post-operative regular ISD (intermittent self dilatation) ≥ 3 months. For further improvement of the cosmesis of neo-meatus and prevention of neo-urethral stricture, we have modified the Snodgrass technique. The modification includes routine dorsal and ventral hypospadiac meatotomy in conjunction with placement of free graft over incised urethral plate before tubularization.
