Abstract
This study aim to propose a moving average control chart explicit formula based on the Generalized Poisson distribution (MAGP ) and to compare the performance of the MAGP control chart with that of the Shewhart control chart (CGP ). The average run length (ARL) is used to consider the performance. The ARL results indicated that the MAGP control chart is superior to the CGP control chart based on the Generalized Poisson distribution for detecting small shifts. Practitioners will find this explicit formula to be accurate as well as simple to apply and use.
