Abstract

A treatment is given of the Mott transition of a gas of excitons in equilibrium with electron-hole droplets in Ge. We find that transition occurs near 4K. We can come to no firm conclusion whether the Mott transition is a first-order transition separate from the liquid-gas transition, as has been suggested.
