Abstract

The topic of this article is the study of student motivation when teaching online, as part of tutoring in preparation for the main state exam (hereinafter – MSE). The author, using the survey method, explores various aspects of the psychological and social state of students preparing for the MSE in social studies, which is currently one of the key subjects for the social and humanitarian profile of education. Such aspects as gender, income and family background, region of residence, students' assessment of their own knowledge are investigated, and the question is raised on whose initiative the survey participants decided to get assistance of the tutor (their own, parents').
