Abstract

The 1980s and early 1990s are characterized by unprecedented competition among the leading industrial countries and regions on the technology front. The process of innovation has come to be of particular importance as a way for national and regional economies to survive. Science and science-technology parks, business incubators, and technopolises [tekhnopolisy] have become an instrument that is highly effective and appropriate to the times with respect to policies conducted by countries and regions to support innovations and science-intensive entrepreneurship.
