Abstract

Several North African and Hispanic mosaic pavements, especially those of the 2nd and 3rd centuries, already show figure- scenes and symbolic motifs connected with the economy and the political and commercial activities of the several social states. These mosaics also confirm the litterary and epigraphical sources, among the other archaeological evidences. Specifically, there are noted two important cities located on the coast and inside of Africa Proconsularis, Hadrumetum and Althiburos, closely related to some cities of the Baetica.
