Abstract

Politrauma configura-se um trauma múltiplo causado por força externa, cujas consequências variam de escoriações leves a sequelas graves e fatais. Segundo a Secretaria de Saúde do Estado de Minas Gerais, o acidente automobilístico (AA) é a causa de trauma mais frequente no Brasil e compreende a primeira causa de morte entre pessoas de 5-14 anos, e a segunda de 15-39 anos. Essa condição apresenta necessidade de intervenção médica imediata e cuidados a longo prazo, resultando em elevado custo para os sistemas de saúde.
