Abstract
A morphological description of the developing rabbit cornea was deemed necessary for future biochemical analyses and comparisons with healing adult corneas to understand why normal fetal corneas go on to produce a normal adult tissue, while healing corneas remain in the “fetal” condition. Corneas from fetal and young albino rabbits of various ages were examined by light and transmission electron microscopy.
