Abstract
Increasingly, politicians are stepping up to get involved in UAW campaigns. While the UAW was trying to organize a Nissan plant in Canton, Miss., Gov. Phil Bryant (R) posted a picture on Facebook of a rundown factory in Detroit with the caption: “I hope the employees at Nissan Canton understand what the UAW will do to your factory and town. Just ask Detroit. Vote no on the union.” Meanwhile, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders spoke at a rally in support of Canton workers.
