Abstract

The article explores the theoretical and applied issues of using massive open online courses for teaching a foreign language at a university within the framework of content and language integrated learning. An innovative method for teaching a professionally oriented foreign language based on the CLIL approach using MOOCs is proposed. The criteria for the selection of MOOCs for their subsequent integration into the learning process have been developed. The result is also the development of a methodological model for the formation of professional foreign language competence, which is based on the author's methodology and application of the CLIL principles and the didactic principles of the integration of digital technologies – massive open online courses. A survey of students and teachers who participated in experimental learning regarding the effectiveness and convenience of using MOOCs for content and language integrated learning was conducted.
