Abstract
Structures formed in malleable cast iron in the process of austempering are simulated with the help of the Monte Carlo method. The simulation is performed using a matrix consisting of 150 × 150 regions. The length of each region is 0.1 µm; the simulated area is 1 × 1 mm in size. The grain sizes obtained in the model and in experiments match satisfactorily.
