Abstract

ABSTRACTAn epithermal neutron (0.5 eV < En < 10 keV) flux monitor developed for boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) was optimized by Monte Carlo simulations. Based on this optimization study, the optimization results for each component of the epithermal neutron flux monitor were obtained. The simulation results indicated that the epithermal neutron flux monitor with optimal configuration was more efficiently applicable to precisely measure the epithermal neutron fluxes of BNCT neutron sources.
