Abstract

The coil dimensions of chains up to N=60, terminally attached to a rigid, impenetrable boundary in poor solvent and/or low-temperature conditions, are studied by means of the Monte Carlo method. The θ transition and collapse to the dense globular state for model chains at reduced temperature T∗≡kT/ε α⋍2.0 has been found.
