Abstract
ABSTRACT The monotypic genus Chaetotheresia Townsend 1931, known from a single species, C. crassa (Wiedemann, 1830), is a poorly studied Neotropical taxon. The taxonomic study conducted herein resulted in the redescription of the genus and an update of its distribution. A new combination is assigned for this genus: Chaetotheresia insolita Walker, 1853 comb nov., formerly in Hystrichodexia Williston. With these changes the genus Chaetotheresia now has two species. Additionally, lectotype fixations are made for both species. Finally, keys for these species as well as their redescriptions are given. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:0A016F3A-B7D4-491D-9436-57CDE02FFF59.
