Abstract
Aim: Monomeric C-reactive protein (mCRP) may be involved in a local inflammatory response produced by atherosclerotic damage of artery wall tissues. We measured plasma levels of platelet and leukocyte microparticles bearing mCRP in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD) and detected tissue deposits of mCRP in autopsy samples of coronary atherosclerotic plaques and intact coronary arteries.
