Abstract

Background: Tilanala Kshara is an alkali extracted from the ash of Tilanala (Sesamum Indicum Linn.) Tilanala (Stem) is used as one of the major ingredient in preparation of tilanalakshara, which is mainly used for treating Arshas and Bhagandara also has wide therapeutic uses in Udara shoola, Shwitra, Ashmari, etc. In the present study preparation of tilanalakshara was performed as per the classical methods and analytical study was carried out in ACRL. Materials and Methods: This study aimed to asses monographic analysis of Tilanala kshara. Analytical standardization employing tests like organoleptic, physicochemical, inorganic analysis and Na, K, Ca elemental analysis by flame photometer. Study Setting: ACRL SJGAMC&H Koppal Results: Tilanala Kshara fulfills the standard criteria of all analytical parameters. Conclusion: As the findings are encouraging, similar experiments can be extended to all other Kshara preparations
