Abstract

Background: Apamarga kshara is an alkali extracted from the water soluble ash of Apamarga (Achyranthes aspera) Panchanga (whole plant). As Pratisaran, it is used in Arsha, Bhagandhara, Dushta vrana, Charmakeela, etc and as Paneeya, used in Ashmari, Udara roga, Ajeerna, Krimi etc. In the present study preparation of Apamarga kshara was performed and the analytical study was carried out in ACRL. Materials and Methods: This study aimed to assess monographic analysis of Apamarga kshara. Analytical standardization employing tests like organoleptic, physiochemical, inorganic analysis and Na+ , K+ elemental analysis by Flame photometer. Study setting: ACRL SJGAMC&H Koppal. Results: Apamarga kshara fulfils the standard criteria of all analytical parameters. Conclusion: As the findings are encouraging, similar experiments can be extended to all other Kshara preparations
