Abstract

The problem of the development of geotechnical systems that eliminate thermal pollution of the geological medium is discussed. It is confirmed that their creation is possible only under conditions whereby an inverse relation between the structure and geological medium is provided for on the basis of monitoring. An example of the solution of this problem in Vorkuta is cited, and prospects for the use of monitoring as a component part of structural engineering are described.
