Abstract

Normally in a electrical power plant, the parameters involved on the generation process are monitored through electromechanical instruments and controlled by analog regulators. A new alternative is proposed in this work. It presents a digital control and monitoring system for a turbine and synchronous generator. A single processor architecture IBM-PC and a multifunction data acquisition board with its signal conditioning circuits are used. Four sensors based on microcomputers are performed: load angle for synchronous machine; phase angle; power factor; and electric frequency.
