Mongolia adopted a new Constitution in January 1992 and held its second free election the following June, remarkable accomplishments in the time since the nation began its reform in 1990. The Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP), whose almost 70-year rule was interrupted by two years of power-sharing with its opposition, was voted into office again.
