Abstract

A momentum-space analysis of the scattering-state wave function based on a formal integral equation for the wave function in electron--hydrogen-atom ionizing collisions leads to two simple results. These solutions are correct in the asymptotic region and are exact, respectively, to first and second orders in the interaction potentials. The result may be further improved and generalized and could be used in atomic ionization studies.
