Abstract
Summary In 2009–2012, the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute, Sośnicowice Branch conducted a number of plot trials to develop an effective programme of protecting winter oilseed rape against pests, at the beginning of the growing season, at flowering and pod formation. The selected insecticides were applied at three different timings: T1 (BBCH 52) – against Ceutorhynchus pallidactylus (Marsh.), T2 (BBCH 57) – against Meligethes aeneus (F.), T3 (BBCH 65) – against Ceutorhynchus obstrictus (Marsh.) = C. assimilis (Payk.) and Dasyneura brassicae Winn. at T3, the crop was also sprayed with mixes of insecticides and fungicides. Based on the trials, researchers identified a number of insecticides, which, when applied at specified timings, or in tank mixes with fungicides, caused significant increases in winter oilseed rape seed yields over the control yield. The examples of applications include: 1) treatment T2 – Proteus 110 OD (thiacloprid, deltamethrin); treatment T3 – Proteus 110 OD + Yamato 303 SE (thiophanate-methyl, tetraconazole) – 228%, 2) treatment T2 – Pyrinex 480 EC (chloropiriphos); treatment T3 – Bulldock 025 EC (beta-cyflutrin) + Pictor 400 SC (boskalid, dimoksystrobin) – 221%, 3) treatment T2 – Pyrinex 480 EC; treatment T3 – Mospilan 20 SP (acetamipride) – 205%, 4) treatment T1 – Pyrinex 480 EC; treatment T3 – Pyrinex 480 EC – 200%.
