Abstract
The presence of an insertion well in the potential energy surface of alkaline earth metal hydrogen halide systems has interesting effects on the vector properties of the reaction products. In this paper, we discuss the effect of forming a short-lived insertion complex on the alignment of the product diatomic rotational angular momentum to the products'relative velocity vector for the Mg+FH reaction. Similarities with correlation properties of photodissociating triatomic molecules and the effect of increasing the total angular momentum are examined
