Abstract

Molecular dynamics modeling of collisions of argon atoms with energies are 10 to 100 eV with the graphite and pyrocarbon surfaces is performed. The structure of the occurred damages is analyzed. It is shown that bombardment with argon atoms that have energies of no more than 40 eV can remove nano-irregularities from a pyrocarbon surface.
