Abstract

The results of IR spectroscopic investigations of the formation and rupture of hydrogen bonds and intermolecular proton transfer in complexes involving carboxyl groups and hydrogen bonds in polymeric matrices have been generalized. Most attention has been given to consideration of the effect of molecular mobility in polymers on the thermodynamic condition of the system of hydrogen bonds. Deviation of the hydrogen bond system and the proton-transfer complex from the equilibrium state occurs at temperatures corresponding to the characteristic relaxation transitions of the polymeric matrix.
