Abstract

We investigated photochemical reaction of deprotonated ketoprofen (KP−) in aqueous solutions at neutral pH by transient grating (TG) method. At low excitation fluences or KP− concentrations, the TG signal showed molecular diffusion of KP− and its photoproducts such as hydrogen carbonate and 3-ethylbenzophenone (3-EBP). On the other hand, at high fluences or high KP− concentrations, the aggregation dynamics of 3-EBP was observed. The hydrodynamic radii of the formed aggregates reached beyond 5 nm, and their formation was driven in water-rich solutions.
