Abstract

Several kinds of porphyrin/porphyrin, phthalocyanine/phthdocyanine, porphyrin/phthalocyanine selfassembled multilayer films—molecular deposition (MD) films have been prepared by alternately dipcoating a substrate into solution of oppositely charged chromophores. Alternate film growth was monitored by UV-Vis spectroscopy. The results strongly suggest the formation character of layer-by-layer assembly of homogeneous films. The structum of the MD films have been characterized by quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and polarized UV-Vis spectroscopy. It is shown that the macroring of the porphyrin and/or phthalocyanine in the MD films is orientated with an angle of 38° and 32° with respect to the normal of the substrate respectively.
