Abstract

The method of light scatter in solutions has been employed to study the molecular characteristics of graft copolymers of cellulose diacetate and polystyrene in solvents of different thermodynamic quality. The constants K and a in the Mark-Kuhn-Houwinck equation for DMF have been found. It is shown that the incompatibility of the components helps to improve the interaction of the graft copolymer with solvent. It has been established that the conformation of the macromolecules of the graft copolymer in solution is predominantly influenced by the long side chains.
