MOHSIN NAQVI SPECTRUM OF POETRY

Abstract

Urdu poetry has an extensive history of Elegiac literature .Mohsin Naqvi is a great name in Urdu poetry. Along with the diversity of topics in his poetry, a beautiful style and softness of tone is also prominent. He tried all genres of poetry but Elegy is his speciality. He is considered one of the great poets of elegy. In his elegies, the element of love and devotion to the Prophet(PBUH) and his family is prominent. The effects of the elegy on his all genres of poetry are significant. Mohsin,s entire poetry is embded in the elegiac environment,as his system of symbolism, metaphorical representation and similes point out towards new meaningness associated with Elegies.
