Abstract

Abstract PLZT compositions 8/80/20, 10/75/25, and 12/70/30 were modified by the incorporation of Ca2+, Sr2+ (up to 5%) and Ba2+ (up to 10%) in place of Pb2+ and Nd3+ partially and completely for La3+. Y3+ substitutions for La3+ cause the formation of a second phase. The variation of dielectric constant with temperature, dc bias and composition may be explained by the location of the composition relative to the AFE-FE phase boundary in the PLZT system.
