Abstract
The limitations of Hazen-Williams formula, which is widely used by the environmental engineers, have been indentified in quantitative terms. An accurate formula, similar to that of Hazen-Williams, based on explicit relationship for pipe diameter and Colebrook's equation for friction factor has been obtained. A nomograph based on the proposed formula has been presented in a readily usable form.
