Abstract

A sulfide-selective electrode based on surfactant modified zeolite (SMZ) particles into PVC membrane has been proposed (SMZ-PVC). The electrode was exhibited linear response range to sulfide in the range of 1.0×10−7 to 1.0×10−1 molL−1 with detection limit of 6.3×10−8 molL−1 and Nernstian slope of 29.4±0.8mV per decade of sulfide concentration. The successful determination of sulfide in real sample of a sugar company waste sample, using direct potentiometry is presented.
