Abstract
AbstractBy using literature review, expert interviews, survey and comparison, this paper performed a research on sports management modes in colleges and universities in Sichuan. The principal findings of this paper showed that there were four types of sports management in higher school: (a) department of public physical education under executive president, (b) department of public physical education attached to school of physical education or department of physical education under executive president, (c) department of public physical education attached to department of basic courses education under executive president, and (d) combination of school of physical education and department of public physical education under executive president. The paper has analyzed their advantages and disadvantages and stated that should have a reform on sports management in higher education. The higher education should break traditional way of thinking, seek a new mode from the viewpoint of sport strategies, focus on the fundamental development, etc.KeywordsSports managementSichuanHigher educationPhysical education
