Abstract
This paper presents the method of derivation of the expressions for dominant as well as higher order mode fields in E and H plane sectoral horns. The wave equation satisfied by the components of electric/magnetic field which yield other impedances using Maxwell equation is derived and the solution satisfying the boundary conditions is obtained. The wave impedance is determined for the propagating modes in the E & H-plane sectoral horns. The numerical data of real and imaginary part of the wave impedance are presented and conditions under which the imaginary part reduces to zero is also found.
