Abstract
This article presents a low-cost method of modernizing continuous-casting machines through improvement of the suspension of the mold. The replacement of lever-and-hinge type suspensions reduces or eliminates gaps in the unit and thus helps improve the surface quality of the continuous-cast semifinished product.
