Abstract

"Science has never existed except among peoples who came under the influence of the Greeks", wrote Burnett; and SchrÖdinger (vide Nature and the Greeks) considered the study of Greek thought to be essential if we are to understand the peculiar, special traits of our scientific world picture. The book under review deals with the relevance for present day physics of the series of famous antinomies propounded by the Greek, Zeno of Elea.
