This article examines the modern approach to the treatment of arterial hypertension as one of the most important medical and social problems in the developed world, characterised by a high prevalence high risk of cardiovascular complications and occurrence along with comorbid diseases.

Место блокаторов рецепторов ангиотензина II 1-го типа в современной терапии артериальной гипертонии. Бисопролол более эффективен, чем метопролол, при лечении АГ, особенно у пациентов, ведущих активный образ жизни. Исследование по сравнению эффективности бисопролола (10 мг/сут) и ИАПФ эналаприла (20 мг/сут) с участием 57 больных с мягкой и умеренной АГ, показало, что бисопролол обладает несколько более выраженной гипотензивной активностью.
