Abstract
The author's concept of the production complex is given as the central object of economic activity of modern socio-economic, the activity of which is directly associated with the functioning of large integrated structures. The high urgency of the problem of increasing the energy efficiency of industrial complexes in the economy of modern Russia is shown. The analysis of modern approaches to the assessment of energy efficiency, developed in world science, is carried out. In particular, the approaches used in the methods of the International Energy Agency, the World Energy Consulate, the Asia-Pacific Research Center, the French Environment Agency and a number of other well-known methods are considered; the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of these approaches and methodological developments is carried out. Based on the results of the research, the main conclusions are made and directions for further research are shown.
