Abstract
This article is devoted to the activities of the symbol of the everyday entertainment life of Russians in Harbin, the hotel and entertainment complex “Modern”. Russian emigration Harbin is one of the centers of the eastern branch of the Russian emigration, which still retains evidence of the Russian presence. The history of “Modern” is investigated with the involvement of various documentary sources in Russian and Chinese: archive data, periodicals, scientific articles, essays and memoirs of Harbin residents. The unique atmosphere of cultural and entertainment life of Russian Harbin is described.
