Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the main factors shaping the investment environment in Ukraine, taking into account global challenges. Methodology. The methodology of the conducted research: comparative analysis; graphical analysis; logical generalization. The results of sociological researches. Results.The main approaches to understanding the theory of investments are analyzed. The process of forming a global investment agreement is described. It analyses the dynamics of the global investment. It carries out the structure of the world investment market in the groups of recipient countries. The dynamics of volume of foreign investments in the economy of Ukraine is conducted. It has been established that the reduction of global investments enhances competition for their attraction. The main prerequisites for attracting investments are identified: fiscal preferences, political and legal stability, level of corruption, level of development of investment infrastructure. The main elements of the investment environment in Ukraine are analyzed. A comparative analysis with countries has been carried out, and their best practices regarding the formation of a favorable investment environment should be used in domestic practice. A thorough study of the results of investor surveys has allowed to identify the main negative factors of the investment environment: unstable political situation, corruption, lack of trust in the judicial system, low level of investment infrastructure development. Practical meaning. The directions of improvement of the conditions of the investment environment in Ukraine (the fight against corruption, ensuring political stability, and further reforming the judicial system) are proposed. Developed proposals have practical value. Prospects for further research. Problems related to the definition of the role of state institutions in the process of regulating the activities of foreign investors are perspective and need further research.
