Abstract

The article analyzes modern approaches to determining the impact of physical activity on the psychological health of students in wartime. Through the use of the meta-analysis method, we have determined that most authors used the following research methods to obtain results on this issue: the SAN method (well-being, activity, mood), body mass index, vital and strength indices, Robinson's index, and the Fremdheim method. Based on the results of their research, it can be argued that sports have a positive impact on the psychological state of students. Systematic curricular and extracurricular physical exercises are an important condition for the normal physical and spiritual development of a student's personality, a prerequisite for fostering priority orientations to health promotion and a motivational incentive for regular independent exercise and sports. Physical activity improves cognitive functions, in particular, increases cognitive performance, memory and cognitive flexibility. Sports can also improve students' psychological well-being by providing a positive mood, reducing symptoms of depression, improving self-esteem, and developing social skills. In addition, sports can help regulate emotions and provide students with psychological comfort and self-discipline, and thus can be used as an additional argument in support of the introduction of physical education and health activities into the curriculum of higher education institutions. Sport can be an effective means of improving students' physical and mental health, contributing to their learning and overall well-being. The main goal of our further research will be to determine the impact of physical activity on the psychological health of students in wartime in non-core higher education institutions in Vinnytsia.
