Abstract

There have been numerous legal disputes in the last few years involving conflicts between claims that the non-discrimination rights of gay people are or would be threatened and claims that the right of freedom of religion has been violated. This article will primarily discuss two cases, Islington Borough Council v Ladele and McFarlane v Relate (Avon) Ltd and consider their perceptions of whether and in what ways the actors in these cases are acting in moderate or immoderate ways.
