Abstract
Key Points The study shows that moderate aortic stenosis is associated with a twofold incidence of in‐hospital heart failure and is an independent predictor of mortality among patients presenting with myocardial infarction. Patients with moderate aortic stenosis and recent myocardial infarction warrant a tight follow‐up and represent a peculiar population that may derive potential benefits from earlier valvular intervention. Definitive conclusions about the causal role of moderate aortic stenosis in mortality among patients with recent myocardial infarction and unfavorable outcomes need future investigations.
