Abstract

We compare the predictions of the one pion exchange and one nucleon exchange models for the process p + p → d + π + with experimental data for angular distributions at 2.8, 3.4 and 3.9 GeV incident energy, and for energy dependence at 180° for the deuteron in the c.m. system in the range 3–13 GeV/ c. We conclude that neither model is sufficiently successful.
