Abstract

A comparison between the reactions γp → π +-+ anything and γn → π +-+ anything has been carried out with a linearly polarized photon beam of 7.5 GeV incident energy. The data has been analysed in terms of the structure functions F( x), F( P∥) and F( P ⊥ 2). The reaction γN → ϱ 0 + anything has been investigated and found to have similar behaviour as leading particles in hadron induced reactions as expected from the vector dominance model. Finally the reaction γp → Δ ++ + anything was found to exhibit backward leading particle features and to be consistent with a one pion exchange mechanism.
