Abstract
In this paper, a three-dimensional, nonlinear model is proposed to incorporate the effect of submarine volcanic eruption on equatorial oceanic flows. The model inspired by the Constantin and Johnson model, considers an appropriate density function to model the density of the oceanic system with a volcano erupting at a point on the sea-bed, synchronizing with the temperature variations. The formulated model contains term related to Coriolis effect and is consistent with β-plane approximation. Exact results for the model have been obtained using the asymptotic system of equations.
