Abstract

Slot waveguides provide high electric field and optical power density in low refractive index nano-metric slot. In this work, we proposed a technique to conserve the confinement of light even in sharp bends of slot waveguides. The slot was displaced to the positive and negative axis of the bend and observes the variation in the field power. The high field intensity was achieved for 1 µm radius of curvature by displacing the slot outside of the bend. At that point, the two evanescent tails of the high refractive index waveguide modes has maximum overlap.
