Abstract

In this work, modeling and nonlinear analysis of an energy harvesting system from vibrating mechanical devices are presented. Detailed model analyses are carried out for the system consisting of two flexible beams interconnected mechanically through elastic and dissipative elements and electrically by circuits through piezoelectric patches. During tests, it is assumed that the potential energy of one of the two beams is determined by the system of permanent magnets. The simulation results are presented in the form of bifurcation diagrams and the generated voltage induced on the resistor. It is shown that the efficiency of energy harvesting is significantly reduced if the generalized velocities of vibrating elements of the Double Beam Energy Harvester (DBEH) system have a phase shift.
